RADAR TRANSPONDERS

designs built to your specifications

A radar transponder is a specialized transceiver that listens for radar pulses from (e.g. air-traffic, marine, space) surveillance radar station and transmits a return pulse after a well-defined delay. These devices are useful for enhancing the probability of detection in high clutter environments or where low radar cross-section targets are encountered or long-range detection of targets where passive reflection is not sufficient.

We have developed compact transponders for use with X-band radars. The unit operates from a 12 V power supply. Pulse delay and dwell times can be user-specified. Transmit instantaneous power is two watts (average power is duty cycle-dependent, depends on received pulse repetition rate and dwell time). OMP can develop a custom system that suits your needs, in other bands as well.
